Ren Wrap Skirt PDF Pattern Size 6-24
I really enjoyed making this pattern. The skirt has a classic A-line and is easy to fit, since it has quite a bit of volume around the hips. I went with my waist measurement and didn’t grade up towards the hips, which my measurements would have suggested, and it fits great. If your waist measurement lies between two sizes I would suggest sizing down. The way the wrap skirt works makes it so, that you can’t cinch the waist in after a certain point, whereas it’s probably quite adjustable if you might gain a few pounds.
The beauty lies in the details though: French seams as well as French seamed inseam pockets that are anchored at the waist, and a faced hem. It’s a basic, but it’s a beautiful basic that feels very couture. The wrap is deep so no risk of flashing.
Things I changed/ to keep in mind:
I’m 163cm tall (~5‘3) and shortened it by 5cm.
I would make the hole for the tie a bit taller so it feeds through more easily (maybe make the tie first).
If you want to attach the waistband via stitch in the ditch you’ll have to attach it differently/ from the other side first so read the pattern through first and keep that in mind if it’s important to you.
